Best food I’ve ever had! This was what ran through my mind as I finished the last bite of chicken the night I went to eat at the luxurious Lee Restaurant. Located in Toronto Canada, this place is owned and operated by Chef Susur Lee. He is world renowned as one of the top chefs in Canada being featured on the shows Top Chef Masters and Iron Chef Canada. He’s one of my favourite celebrity chefs as he specializes in Asian/French fusion which are the two styles I’ve grown up cooking and learning about.

This restaurant by far had the most immaculate and well balanced food I’ve ever had the chance to try so far. By far the best dish of the night was the Curry Roasted Chicken which had the most flavourful smooth curry I’ve ever had. This dish was featured in Top Chef Masters and was scored the highest ever on the show and for good reason! From the chicken that was roasted to perfection and was extremely tender and juicy, to the curry sauce that was so perfectly executed that I could have gallons of it alone. The chili mint chutney gave the dish a refreshing aspect to it so it wasn’t so heavy as curries usually are. Every flavor type (sweet, salty, spicy, sour, bitter, umami) were all in unison. Only one other curry dish for me has even come close to this type of flavour, but even that one pales in comparison to this. Everything works so cohesively that there isn’t one aspect of the dish that doesn’t belong.

And then there was the Singaporean-Style Slaw that had a whopping 23 ingredients in it for this massive tower of a starter. Even though there was a lot going on with this dish, everything felt complete. It had this earthiness to it that made it feel like a simple slaw that you could simply get anywhere but in actuality it was far from that.

Last but certainly not least the dessert was a literal party in my mouth! The French/Chinese Tong Yuen had everything I could ever want in a dessert. Sweetness from the pandan creme anglaise and blueberries, sour passionfruit syrup, and crunchy nougat rice. Of course it looked very pretty with an edible flower on top as well!

The entire journey was one I wished every restaurant I dined at was like. Thius place was by far the best place I’ve eaten at to date. I can’t wait for my next trip back to Toronto where I’ll be spending all my money at this restaurant. It goes without saying if you get the chance, check this place out!
